The Lists

I’ve been called a voracious reader and while I do take in a fair amount of material on a yearly basis, I am compelled to admit that I am constantly trying to improve my reading speed in order to learn and take in more. I was inspired by a few incredible influences and luminaries to list the books that have influenced you for others to ponder and consume. Some influences, like Derek Sivers and Ryan Holiday, have posted notes on a voluminous amount of titles that have influenced them and they are there to improve the life of anyone who reads them. I consider that wonderfully inspiring and aspire to create time to do the same. The following lists are free to you to use in any way that may help your life.

Beyond books, I also like to list the pieces of visual art, music, articles, places and speeches that have impacted me greatly. This is not to say that my lists are unbiased or critically objective. They simply have stimulated a great experience in me and many with detailed goals and reasons and others on much more vague level.

The following categories of books are of selections that have influenced me and helped me as a group of teachers and mentors along my path. Not all are complete works of brilliance; some contain brilliant concepts but are written with a contemptuous lack of engagement or style and others should have probably been an essay or at the very least a 25 page pamphlet. Regardless, they all said something to me that at the time was fresh, useful and equally compelling.
